G'day mate from Canberra (CBR) Australia! How's it going everyone? I'm pretty well, ta. Today's topic is gonna be like 'How to keep your conversation going without having odd silence?' Yep, it's pretty difficult for those who are still not too confident in speaking in person. How do we grapple with this sorta thing? Well, let's find out.
First and foremost, you need to be good at things like pronunciation, grammar as well as vocabulary, which are undeniably true. But nevertheless, you don't necessarily have to be proficient at that, because pretty much no body's perfect in those areas, especially grammar. Even native speakers sometimes tend to have some slips when it comes to grammar, in particular. I'm sure I also sometimes make mistakes as well; however, I am pretty confident in speaking, even though I don't think I am quite adept at it. Please don't stress out even if you are worried about it. I reckon, confidence emanates from how much and often you do practise English, not just reading and listening but also talking to yourself and writing as well. The dedication to and perseverence with practising these things are overwhelmingly proportionate to how confident you could be in real conversation. If you don't practise them at all, then how on earth could you be confident? There's no way, ya!
So, all things considered, you should eventually or gradually be able to be good at speaking. As to myself, I used to be not really confident in speaking at all, because there were a few sounds I randomly mispronounced, as a consequence of which they interfered with listeners' ability to comprehend as to what I was trying to say. But now I don't really have many mistakes as average Japanese English learners do often make. This is more than enough to be able to keep my conversation going without having hassles. So, you guys will be alright as long as you are steadfastly making an effort to practise harder and harder as much as you could. This is the only things that make your English life so much easier.
In my view, all in all, there are only three practices that you guys should do on a daily basis: namely, Reading sentences aloud; Repeating sentences; and Self-talk in English. That's all for today. Thanks for flicking through my ditty as always. Chao!
