How to speak to yourself as a means of improving spoken skills

G'day, how're ya going mate? Today, I'd like to demonstrate how to speak to yourself as a means of improving spoken skills. My best answer is don't think too much about what to say, but be a bit of conscious about how you say it. Let me elaborate it further.

Many English learners might think too much about what to say, which is totally fine unless your pronunciation is adequately precise. Otherwise, it's better to think more of how you say it, which is far more significant when it comes to speaking to yourself. Just talking to yourself doesn't really work out. Everyone makes mistakes, which is fine, but make sure you should recognise the mistakes instantly after you made a mistake. This is your starting point whether you could improve or not in the long run.

The reason why "what to say" is not important than "how you say it" is that speaking to yourself as a means of improving spoken skills does not require you to talk about correct and interesting things, so the purpose of it entirely differs from what you normally talk to someone in a daily conversation. The more you are worried about what to say, the wonkier your pronunciation will be. Therefore, please make sure that you don't worry about the things you are speaking. As I always mention, rubbish talk is the best to do in order to improve spoken skills.

Let me demonstrate here. "Well, since I've been sick terribly, I don't wanna talk about anything at all in public. By the way, I just bought a book yesterday at a bookshop here in Canberra, and then I flicked it through already. Some of the arguments the book was talking about are utterly preposterous, you know, because the theories themselves behind do not make sense to me, I mean, not just me but also everyone. Anyway, I don't care whatever it tries to say as long as it is giving a plausible one. Something like that."

As you can see the above, did I say any true and interesting thing? Nope. Have you really understood what I meant? Nope. That's totally fine. This is how I self-talk when I'm free and wherever I am. I didn't care about the contents of what I was talking about, but was aware of how I say them in terms of pronunciation and rhythm. Off you go mate.
