Keep your own diary

G'day! What are you up to mate? Are you keeping your own diary in English? Today, I am going to discuss how effective keeping a journal on a daily basis can be. As for me, I've been keeping my own blog article as a journal. You can also write whatever you've done or experienced previously.

Keeping a diary has many positive benefits for your English learning, especially boosting your written and spoken skills. Since you are using your own words, it's very effective to get used to new words. No one cares about what you've written. So, you can even challenge a new way of sentence structure. Always writing a simple sentence seems boring, so sometimes it's good to have some compound and complex sentences. You can also read it aloud after you've finished writing your diary. It's a good speaking practice as well. The more you're committed yourself to keeping a journal, the better your writing and speaking skills will be.

Another thing I want to point out is that keeping a journal significantly helps boost not just your analytical and logical thinking skills, but more importantly your imaginative/creative sense. This is because that you should be thinking of something in English without your mother tongue's intervention. As you use your left hemisphere's brain, you will become more theoretical. On the other hand, as you use your right one, you will become very instinctive. I am not sure which one you should be using when you are writing a diary in English. But for me, at least, I feel like I am using rather right one as I'm coming up with good ideas having a *brainwave.

*brainwave (British), brainstorm (American)

Please give it a go!! Please let me know your writing style and how you've improved your written and spoken skills.

Thanks for reading today!

Have a lovely Wednesday!
