Talking to yourself

G'day, howz it goin? Today, I don't have any particular topic about which I'd like to talk, so just wanna briefly explain how I study and practise English on a daily basis.

1. When I get up in the morning, what I do is meditation for 15 - 25 mins, depending upon how I feel.

2. Then, starting vocal exercises with online news articles I'm interested in, and I record myself using QuickTime Player. But in some cases I use Chrome Browser for checking my pronunciation if I find it difficult to say. Vocal exercises usually last at least 30 mins.

3. Pick up some interesting or new phrases or words throughout my vocal exercises, and utilise them for my self-talk. Starting self-talk training. I make a decision what kinda topic I'm gonna present, and try to simulate as if someone is listening to my presentation in front of me so that I will feel a bit of imaginary pressure.

4. Try to continue to talk as long as possible no matter what I say. Continuation is everything even if you are talking rubbish, like beating about the bush. It's good training to boost your oral fluency and rhythm. For me, what I do is to start saying like 'SV and then whatever you come up with instantaneously. It doesn't undoubtedly matter how you say it whatsoever. Nobody is there, just you and an imaginary entity in front of you. This entity is entirely incapable of criticising, whingeing about your presentation regardless of what and how you say it. And, it's completely free!! You can practise as much as you want, whenever and wherever 24/7.

Ok, that's the way it is when it comes to my daily speaking practice. If you have any questions or concerns about English-related matters, please don't hesitate to leave your comment below or send me DM.

Thanks for reading today!

Have a splendid Good Friday, everyone!!
