G'day mate, how's it going? Today, what I am going to talk about is the best method to fix English pronunciation. Easier said than done, isn't it? But nonetheless I have to say it's not extremely hard to get them right. Without further ado, let's find out.
As I have been saying a couple of times via social network, fixing English pronunciation is not that daunting. However, if you don't follow the correct method, then it's going to take a toll on your learning journey in the long run. So, please make sure that you won't jump the gun with any incorrect method the Internet source or YouTube videos are showing out there. Yes, some might be great, the others have a detrimental effect on the process of English learning. Ok, then what sorts of methods do we have to have?
First up, please google "IPA phonemic charts". There will be a thousands of downloadable files or images out there. English dictionary is also fine, but there's some confusion when it comes to types of phonemic symbols compared to simplified IPA charts. Usually there are totally 44 types of symbols, but some dictionaries show you more, which is a bit trickier. So don't follow different ones. IPA has been consistently straightforward for sure. After downloading, you want to analyse it as to how many symbols you remember and pronounce correctly. This is critical for fixing pronunciation.
Next up, you need to understand the relationship between the symbols and spelling itself, because some irregular spellings perplex you a lot against your initial understanding of phonemic symbols. This phase is going to be the hardest part of fixing pronunciation. I urge you not to underestimate or ignore this phase, otherwise I am certain that you won't be able to improve pronunciation in a correct way. But how? So, after getting used to all general sounds via vocabulary-based learning, you should start using "Chrome Browser" and MP3 Player. In doing so, you will gradually reconcile the gap between your pronunciation and correct pronunciation. Without undertaking this kind of analysis, you won't be able to perceive and understand how far your pronunciation is going to be closer to a standard native sound.
Having gone through these learning phases, you will be able to enjoy reading aloud, speaking, writing, and much more enormously. The mastery of English pronunciation gives you a chance to embark on any practical training.
