G'day, how's it going mate? What's important for improving English pronunciation is to fully understand phonemic charts. Why? Simply because there won't be any plausible solution without knowing phonemic symbols unless you were born and raised in an English-speaking country. Let's talk about this a bit further, shall we?
I've always been mentioning and emphasising the paramount importance of how critical knowing and understanding phonemic charts is. But for this, I wouldn't possibly have rectified my pronunciation, simply because I'm not a native speaker, and I hadn't exposed myself to any English environment until I decided to study abroad at the age of about 25. Yes, of course, today's highly advanced technology enables us to study English without going abroad. However, the only downside is that you cannot possibly seize a myriad of opportunities to experience an English-speaking country's real English. This is undeniably true even if you are always doing online eikaiwa, or something like that. Real English is totally different from online eikawa. Almost no one is willing to correct your pronunciation, even grammar and vocabulary in real life. So, you will surely feel that I'm obliged to improve my pronunciation as quickly and accurately as I possibly can. This is fundamentally different from what you might think if you just do online eikaiwa. I am not the person dissing the existence of online eikawa, but how can I say, it's gonna be entirely a waste of time and money if you are still learning pronunciation and can only greet, or answer simple questions but don't really know how to kickstart talking without the eikaiwa tutor starting questioning.
Would you be able to cease your online eikaiwa at least until you could confidently pronounce all phonemic symbols and kick off talking and questioning without a tutor's assistance? Instead of continuing this eikaiwa, it's apparently better to learn and master phonemic charts from scratch, which must be far more effective and efficient. Yes, this may not be enjoyable and you've got to persevere a bit, because polishing and correcting pronunciation cannot be done just over night. It might take longer, depending upon the precision of your current pronunciation. But nevertheless, once you've got solid pronunciation, you should be able to enjoy your online eikawa more and more without all the hassle involved in pronunciation, which is great!
If you don't know anything about phonemic charts or symbols and how to improve your pronunciation, then please don't hesitate to contact me.
